Hilden Oaks Harvest Festival

On Wednesday, 16th October, Hilden Oaks School held their annual Harvest Festival service at St. Saviour's Church, Tonbridge. The event was a heart-warming celebration of community spirit and generosity, attended by students, staff, and special guests from the local area.

Phil Jesson, President of the Tonbridge Lions Club, and his wife Jo, were honoured guests at the service. They expressed their gratitude to the school for their kindness and generosity in supporting the Tonbridge community through food donations. The service itself was made memorable by the impressive performances of both the junior and senior choirs, accompanied by the school orchestra. The service was officiated by Alyson Bleakley, Senior Minister for Families, adding to the sense of togetherness and reflection that marked the occasion.

"I would like to thank everyone involved for their contributions, particularly the children, staff, and Headteacher Sharon Wade," said Mr. Jesson. "The over 115 children in attendance, along with their teachers, displayed incredible kindness and thoughtfulness through their donations, which will go a long way to support those in need within our community."

Following the service, Phil and Jo Jesson collected the generous food donations and delivered them to the Feast Larder at Tonbridge Methodist Church, where they were distributed to local community members later that morning. In addition to the food donations, Hilden Oaks School also made a monetary contribution, which will be used to provide food vouchers for families in need during the Lions Club’s annual Christmas distribution.

The Tonbridge Lions Club extends its heartfelt thanks to Hilden Oaks School and all those who participated, for their continued support in making a positive difference to the lives of those less fortunate within the local community.
