Lion President Phil Jesson had the pleasure in presenting a cheque to Hi Kent to enable the purchase of First Aid kits for use by their volunteers for clients, if needs be, at the local hearing aid aftercare clinics.
Hi Kent have been assisting Kent residents with their audiology needs since 1995. They now offer 31 clinics, two of which, are in Tonbridge at the United Reform and Methodist churches. The clinics provide free hearing aid servicing, advice and the supply of hearing aid batteries.
Tonbridge Lions Club, who celebrate their 75th ‘birthday’ this year, has been working with Hi Kent for a number of years, not only with donations but now also with volunteers who happen to be Tonbridge Lions. Lion Brian and Marion Piner have been involved with Hi Kent since early 2024 and were pleased to assist at the inaugural clinic at the Methodist Church on Thursday 15th January. A number of club members also avail themselves of the service from Hi Kent.
Latest figures indicate that Hi Kent reach out to over 14,000 Kent residents saving the NHS over £1m in audiology, appointment and overhead costs.
