The Methodist Church in Tonbridge was brimming with festive cheer on Saturday as a packed house gathered for the annual Christmas concert by the Musical Memories Sing-A-Long Choir. With the audience and choir adorned in seasonal splendour, the celebration began on a high note with a rendition of The First Noel, uniting all voices in harmony.
This event is a collaboration between the Tonbridge Dementia Society and the Tonbridge Lions Club, creating a space where community and Christmas spirit come together. Lion Richard Hill, alongside his wife Julie, orchestrated a delightful and heart-warming afternoon for all attendees.
The concert featured accomplished musicians, including Chris Coverly on piano and Roy Everton on congas, who provided a vibrant backdrop to the festivities. The Hartlip Singers once again captivated the audience with their exquisite interpretations of classic Christmas melodies. A highlight of the event was Vanessa Simmons’ performance of O Holy Night, followed by a rendition of Feliz Navidad led by Gerry Machuca, encouraging the audience to join in and exchange warm holiday wishes.
The Ladies of the Tonbridge Lions Club served a delightful afternoon tea with an array of cakes during the interval, further enhancing the communal spirit of the day.
The concert was a joyous celebration of togetherness, music, and holiday goodwill, marking a perfect start to the Christmas season. Sincere thanks go out to everyone involved in making this event another success.
