In an initiative to support families in need this festive season, Tonbridge Lions have distributed £3,000 worth of food vouchers. In partnership with a dozen local schools and other community organizations, the Lions have provided vouchers to nearly 200 families in the Tonbridge area, ensuring they have the resources they need for a happier Christmas.
This initiative marks a new chapter for the Tonbridge Lions, who have traditionally packed and distributed up to 100 Christmas hampers in previous years. The decision to offer food vouchers this time around was made to extend their reach and provide more flexibility to those facing challenges over the holiday season. The vouchers allow recipients to select the food items they most need, providing much-needed relief during a difficult time.
Tonbridge Lions are particularly grateful for the support of the Kent Community Foundation, whose generous grant helped make this year’s initiative possible. “We are proud to continue our long-standing tradition of service in Tonbridge,” said a spokesperson from the Tonbridge Lions. “This is a wonderful way to ensure that even more families benefit from the kindness of our community during Christmas, and we’re thankful for the partnerships and generosity that have made this happen.”
